Marianne Home Inn, Puerto Princesa, Palawan

We stayed at Marianne Home Inn during our 3 days/2 nights weekend getaway in Palawan. We chose Marianne Home Inn having learned that the place is new and the staffs are great. Not to mention a comment I read that the food is great.

Marianne Home Inn is a new tourist inn/hotel located in the heart of Puerto Princesa, Palawan. It started business just recently in May 2011. The place is just an 8 minute ride away from the airport and a 5-minute walk to the Baywalk. From the window, you can see a nearby mall, Unitop, where you can also do your groceries. For small buys, there is a sari-sari store just outside the hotel.

What I like about the hotel besides being new are the hotel staffs. They are very courteous and are always ready to give a helping hand. They even go out of their way to satisfy the needs of the clients. For instance, we want to make a reservations for Ka Lui so we asked them if we can call using their telephone. We didn't mention about Ka Lui but the receptionist already knew that we are to make a reservation in Ka Lui. She even offered to call the restaurant for us.

I also love the rooms. They are spacious enough especially the bathroom. The bathroom is really huge. You can actually lie in there, really! I also like the fact that they change the sheets and towels everyday. The air-conditioning system works well. The LCD TV installed has quite a number of channels to choose from. And they have a water dispenser outside the room. Here are a few photos of my room which is room 201.

Marianne Home Inn also offers free breakfast. Not just free, but delicious free breakfast. During our first breakfast, they served fish and grilled pork with rice, coffee and banana. During our second breakfast, they served danggit and hotdog with rice, coffee and banana. I personally like how they prepare danggit. I always avoid eating danggit because it's too salty but their cook really did a great job on removing the saltiness. We even asked the staff how the cook does it. He said that the cook marinates the fish on calamansi and some other mixture. Some past guests even had the cook marinate their danggit so they can bring it back home.

You can choose to eat breakfast in their dining area or have it served in your room.

By the way, I recorded a video of how my room (Single/Double room) looks like. My room is Room 201.

  4. Your posts are all informative. I saw a discounted trip to Palawan via the coupon companies online. Marianne Hotel is the featured hotel. At first I was hesitant but after reading your blog, I am definitely going to get the trip. I also read your DIY Honda Bay tour. I hope you can assist me on two queries. Is Marianne Hotel close to the beach? Some hotels are beachfront resorts so you can swim in the beach during your stay. In the Honda Bay Island Hopping, are visitors allowed to swim and shower in the Sta. Lourdes wharf when they dock?

Thank you in advance for your help. I am Annie from Mandaluyong City.

  5. Hi Annie! Hope you're doing well.

Marianne Home Inn isn't close to the beach. You may try Microtel. I read that's a beachfront resort.

About Honda Bay, there are lots of boats docked at the wharf. So it's not really a place fit for swimming. You may want to take your shower at Isla Pandan. That's the only island I know that has shower areas.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your stay in Palawan. :)
